Nowhere else in the Caribbean are there so many rum distilleries – some operating, some in ruins –Caribbean rum was tied to small plantations driven by waterwheel cane crushing and boiling houses where steaming cane juice was ladled between copper pans, and pot stills fired directly by locally scavenged wood. We can take you on a tour that covers sampling the famous renegade single cane sipping rum to the ruins of the rum distilleries of old. NB This tour can be combined with a chocolate tour for a half day of rum and a half day of chocolate.
